Reviewer: Essaie - favorite favorite favorite favorite favorite - January 20, Subject: A movie to see! The Grape of Wrath, a film written by John Steinbeck. The producer of this film is Darryl F. Henry Fonda plays the role of Tom Joad who is just coming out from jail after had past four years in prison, Tom Joad went back home, where he realized that many things had changed since he left home for the past four years.
The Joad family was no longer living in the same place. That was a long journey paved with several sad events, including the grandparents' deaths. Charley Grapewin in the role of Grampa and Zeffie Tilbury in the role of Granma they were the fun center of the family, mostly Grampa as usual.
On the dark course, the images of despair, misery, injustice, the exploitation of the rich against the poor take place, where the rich take advantage of the situation of people to enrich themselves, no compassion towards others. As an example they offer them work and change the salary after their consent, and they have no choice to do so because they are in need. The first scene showed the poverty around the people. The black and white pictures were perfect to put the context of the history of the epoch.
The Joad family, despite their poverty, represented hope, complicity, and courage in these difficult moments. In several scenes, children were seen playing and at times, laughing in family conversations around a table.
In my opinion, the actors were awesome, especially Henry Fonda in the role of Tom Joad.
The grapes of wrath
Some scenes were sometimes dark and difficult to identify the characters. The scene of the car on the road loaded shows how difficult it was to get at the final destination, California, where all the family members did not have the chance to make it.
To conclude, that is a movie to see to enrich your culture and have a good understanding of American reality. Additional Collections - Video. Please type in your email address in order to receive an email with instructions on how to reset your password.

I do have to agree with other reviewers about the harmonica between chapters. Great story. Outstanding narration. This was on my high school reading list and I never got around to reading it.
I was a good read. A very meaningful classic that is ageless in the lessons the book conveys. The narrator did a fantastic job. A must listen! This narrator was terrific. And John Steinbeck is a truly great story teller. Sadly, this story could be of the present in so many ways. Great classic! Dylan Baker is the best narrator that I know.
Grapes of wrath by Boyd Cable
A brilliant book, brilliantly read. Much better than the movie version! It's a shame, with such a great book and a great narrator that someone would decide to interrupt the chapters with the most god-awful music, delivered at twice the decibels of the narration! Beware, especially if you're trying to read the book for relaxation. In between chapters there are sudden, ear-splitting blasts of harmonica that sound like a cross between a car alarm and a cat being slowly crushed by a steam roller.

First published in AprilSteinbeck's National Book Award-winning epic of the Great Depression chronicles the Dust Bowl migration of the s and the story of one Oklahoma farm family, the Joads, driven from their homestead and forced to travel west to the promised land of California. The story of their struggle remains eerily relevant in today's America and stands as a portrait of the conflict between the powerful and the powerless, "in the souls of the people. The introduction provides a history of the novel's public reception, a summary of the major phases of critical response, and a reading of the novel as an act of returning west to Steinbeck's lost California.
